The PwC Foundation’s social programme is the core of its strategy

PwC Foundation’s social programmeWe wish to support and promote the values of social innovation and commitment to our society through initiatives that make our capacities and resources available to organisations and social entrepreneurs in order to help them create sustainable replicable social value…

... And we wish to do so through a strategy of collaboration and alliances with prestigious companies, foundations, academic institutions and NGOs since we believe that it is only through collaboration and trust that we can face the major challenges facing our society.

The PwC Foundation, entrepreneurs and the third sector

One of the core values of PwC’s vision is to support entrepreneurs and innovation as value creation drivers. From a social perspective, the PwC Foundation wishes to help identify and support social innovation and social entrepreneurs with an impact on social value creation.

In this respect, PwC wishes to support initiatives that combine the social impact with economic viability.

Alliance with Ashoka in order to encourage social entrepreneurs

Ashoka is a worldwide organisation that identifies and invests in the innovative ideas of social entrepreneurs in order to drive long-lasting structural changes. In short, it invests in innovative social entrepreneurs.

Collaboration by the PwC Foundation focuses on supporting annually certain Spanish entrepreneurs identified by Ashoka, providing them with professional advice in order to ensure the feasibility of their ideas, and to help Ashoka with its internal management processes.

PwC and ESADE’s social leadership programme for NGOs

As part of the agreement with the ESADE Institute of Social Innovation, we continue to carry out the activities, work meetings, studies and publications on leadership in NGOs and other non-profit organisations, in order to:

  • Generate and drive innovative knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development of leadership capacities.
  • Contribute to strengthening the credibility of organisations.

In order to meet these objectives, we will continue to carry out investigation, teaching, shared learning and dissemination activities:

  • The Social Leadership Forum that will continue to be held alternatively in Madrid and Barcelona constitutes a space for learning and generating knowledge in which the directors and executive chairmen of Spanish NGOs participate.
  • Research into social leadership.
  • Annual publication of research and a case study on good practice in social leadership and the conclusions and working papers of the Forum’s meetings.

‘Mas Social’: Programme of the PwC and Barrié Foundations for the professionalization of the Third Sector

In 2011 the Barrié and PwC Foundations started up Más Social, a programme which aims to provide guidance on economically sustainable professional management and administration to Galician social entities.

The programme aims to promote an economically sustainable social action model, indirectly permitting the labour market reintegration of professionals who are unemployed because of the current crisis.

In this respect, the programme makes available a complete range of support instruments to participating social services providers in Galicia:

  • Hiring of professionals with management experience.
  • Technical assistance in drawing up action plans for these professionals.
  • Helping to implement the action plan.
  • Specific social management training.
