Responsible Economy Circle

A new breakfast seminar in the Responsible Economy Circle series, sponsored by the Bertelsmann Foundation, the PwC Foundation and the German Chamber of Commerce, was held on 25 April at the headquarters of the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain in Madrid.

During the working breakfast a talk was given by Mr. Ignasi Carreras, Director of the ESADE Social Innovation Institute.

On 15 March a breakfast conference was held at the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain within the cycle called “Responsible Economy Circle”, sponsored by the German Chamber of Commerce, the Bertelsmann Foundation and the PwC Foundation.

On this occasion, a lecture was given by Mr. Carlos Mas, PwC Chairman, on the subject “Entrepreneurs and Intrapreneurs: a Dialogue to Create Value”.

Launch of the Start Up Programme with the Junior Achievement Foundation
Launch of the Start Up Programme with the Junior Achievement Foundation Last Friday, 20 January, saw the launch of the PwC and Junior Achievement Foundations’ Start Up Programme, with the participation of 30 PwC volunteers and 27 students. The agenda for the launch meeting consisted of presenting PwC as a firm, the Foundation and its CSR policy.

The PwC Foundation has signed a Framework Collaboration Agreement with the Spanish Foundations Association for the implementation of both institutions’ objectives in support of the foundation sector in Spain. The Agreement was signed on 12 January at the headquarters of the PwC Foundation at the PwC Tower in Madrid.

Seminar on The New Law for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism

On 17 November 2011, PwC held a seminar on The New Law for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, aimed at foundations and associations, with the collaboration of the PwC Foundation and the Lealtad Foundation.
Collaboration agreement with the Proyecto Hombre Foundation

Within the framework of the PwC Foundation’s Social Programme, on 11 November Enrique Fernández-Miranda, the Chairman of the PwC Foundation, signed a collaboration agreement with the Proyecto Hombre Foundation, devoted to drug prevention and the treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts.

On 17 October 2011 the book “Green Taxation in Europe” was presented at Instituto de Empresa. The book was written at the PwC & IE Public Sector Centre and includes an introduction by Enrique Barón Crespo.

A breakfast meeting of the Responsible Economy Circle, organised by the PwC Foundation, the Bertelsmann Foundation and the German Chamber of Commerce in Spain, was held on 4 October in Barcelona. On this occasion, a talk was given by Enrique Goñi, Co-president of Banca Cívica, on the subject of: “Banca Cívica: a new financial model”.
Collaboration Agreement with the S.A.U.C.E. Foundation
In the photo – centre – Mr. Enrique Fernández-Miranda, President of the PwC Foundation, and Ms. Mª José Gómez-Rodulfo, President of the S.A.U.C.E. Foundation. On 3 October 2011, the PwC Foundation entered into a Framework Collaboration Agreement with the S.A.U.C.E. Foundation to assist in its development, growth and professionalization.
S.AU.C.E. is an organisation whose purpose is to raise funds and actively participate, through volunteers, in the longstanding project of Monsignor Enrique Figaredo, Apostolic Prefect of Battambang (Cambodia), to provide help to severely disabled refugees.

The Momentum Project is strengthened with the inclusion of the PwC Foundation The PwC Foundation strengthens its commitment with the Momentum Project, and together with BBVA and ESADE, becomes the third partner of this initiative. The agreement stems from the conviction that social entrepreneurs need to secure private investor support for which it is essential to create an environment of transparency and trust that facilitates decision- taking and assesses risks.

Ashoka and the PwC Foundation establish a collaboration framework in Spain The PwC Foundation has entered into a decisive commitment with Ashoka and its effort to drive social entrepreneurship by signing a collaboration agreement. This agreement aims mainly to accelerate the impact of the initiatives started up by the Social Entrepreneurs of the Ashoka network in Spain, who are offering innovative long-lasting solutions to the tough problems of our society.

PwC Foundation joins the Management Board of the Spanish Foundations Association (AEF)
Miguel Cruz, Vicepresidente de la Fundación de PwC, A General Assembly was held on 20 June at which AEF’s Management Board was joined by new members under the new chairmanship of Javier Nadal, Executive Vice-President of the Telefónica Foundation. The Management Board, which has been joined by Miguel Cruz, Vice-President of the PwC Foundation as a full member, is made up of Spain’s most prestigious non-profit organisations: the Príncipe de Asturias, Rafael del Pino, Marcelino Botín, Banco Santander, La Caixa, Barrié, Vocento, Lealtad, ONCE, Juan March, Ramón Areces, Barceló, Bancaja, Ayuda en Acción, Mapfre, Tomillo and Júnior Achievement España Foundations.

1st meeting of Public Management Masters graduates

On 7 July the 1st meeting was held for graduates in the last five years of the Public Management Masters at the Public Sector Innovation Centre of the PwC Foundation and IE Business School.

The act was chaired by Enrique Fernández-Miranda, Chairman of the PwC Foundation, and Julio Gómez Omar, Director of the Public Sector Innovation Centre.
