Introduction

PwC created the PwC Foundation in the knowledge that the business world can contribute to the development of the society to which it belongs and to the wellbeing of its citizens, the men and women and their families who make that society a reality every day.

The aims of the PwC Foundation include the promotion and financing of social, educational, cultural, scientific and research activities in the fields of finance, economics and law.

The mission of the PwC Foundation is to collaborate with the Spanish society by sharing its capabilities, experience and resources to study, teach and disseminate financial, economic and legal knowledge; to protect the most vulnerable young people; and to promote cultural enrichment through relevant expressions.

To make this mission a reality, a number of programmes must be implemented with different projects or lines of work that take into account the regional differences in Spain and respect the social realities and concerns of the different autonomous communities.

Action Plan 2011-2012

The strategy of the PwC Foundation is aligned with the overall strategy of PwC Spain, contained in its strategic plan Lidera# 1, whose vision is reflected in our determined ambition to be the leading professional services firm.

The PwC Foundation is an essential component of our commitment towards the community, which is synthesised in PwC’s responsible leadership strategy, Lidera#1 Sociedad.

It aims to support and promote the values of social innovation and commitment towards society through various initiatives which place our skills and resources at the service of social entrepreneurs and organisations that seek to change our society, with the aim of helping them create sustainable and replicable social value.

In addition to the activities traditionally carried out by the PwC Foundation, aimed at promoting and funding educational, cultural, scientific and research social activities in the field of financial, economic and legal know-how, there are four strategic lines which will receive special emphasis:

  • Support for social entrepreneurs and innovators
  • Professionalisation of the third sector
  • Commitment towards alliances and collaboration with social leaders to develop joint projects
  • Support for the PwC Foundation's commitment to Smart Growth in Spain

At the PwC Foundation we believe we can help Spanish society to achieve excellence based on solidarity, contributing to this by exercising responsible leadership in which the principles of social and environmental sustainability must be the basis for all our actions.

To fulfil this mission it is necessary to launch a series of programmes with different projects or lines of work. To implement them it is very important to be aware of Spain's strong regional identity and respond to the concerns and social realities of the various Autonomous Regions.
