The “Parliamentary Business” programme which took place during the economic year that ended last Tuesday came to a close on 23 June. This is an initiative of the Business Society in which PwC participated for the first time, whose objective is to foster knowledge, understanding and the sharing of experiences between parliamentarians and business to help them perform their respective functions better. June 2009 – Social Leadership Forum – Presentation of Conclusions

On 3 June, the conclusions of the Social Leadership Forum which took place during the current economic year were presented at ESADE in Madrid. The presentation was attended by Enrique Fernández-Miranda, Managing Director of the PwC Foundation; Ignasi Carreras, Forum Directors and María Sureda, ESADE professor and course coordinator. June 2009 – Presentation of the New PwC-Bankinter-Iberdrola-Business Institute Corporate Governance Centre

February 2009 – Presentation of the first Annual Report of the Spanish Multinational Company Observatory

The first Annual Report of the Spanish Multinational Company Observatory was presented on 11 February at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry in Madrid. The event was presided over by the Secretary of State for Trade, Silvia Iranzo. The observatory is a joint initiative of ESADE and the PwC Foundation. |

January 2009 – Leadership Forum

The “Social Leadership Forum”, a joint initiative of the PwC Foundation and ESADE being developed since last September, was held on 19 January as part of the PwC/ESADE Social Leadership programme directed by Ignasi Carreras, Director of ESADE’s Social Innovation Institute to generate and disseminate leadership information for NGOs.

January 2009 - PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation Award:“The Spanish Company in a Global World”

On 14 January, a diploma was presented to Julen Souto accrediting him as the winner of the first PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation Award. Carlos Mas delivered the award to Julen at our offices located at Castellana, 43 in Madrid 43.

December 2008 - PricewaterhouseCoopers guarantees the transparency of the fundraising process for the TV3 Marathon

For the last fifteen years, more than 50 employees of PwC in Barcelona have been overseeing and verifying the process before, during and after the broadcast of la Marató by TV3.

November 2008 – The PwC Foundation delivers 20 computers to the Tomillo Foundation

The activities of the PwC Foundation include sponsoring and collaborating with other non-profit organisations by contributing both human and/or technical resources. In keeping with this, last 27 the PwC Foundation delivered 20 computers to the Tomillo Foundation.

September 2008 – Meeting of Participants in the Impulsa Project

On 5 September, a group of collaborators on the Impulsa project who work voluntarily and altruistically on different programmes sponsored by NGOs in developing countries, held a meeting at our headquarters. The group met with the Managing Director of the PwC Foundation, Enrique Fernández-Miranda; the partner in charge of Human Capital, Mario Lara and the Director of Corporate Responsibility, Javier Garilleti.

July 2008 – Presentation of the Marathon broadcast by Channel 9 of RTV Valenciana

This is an awareness-raising campaign to raise money for biomedical research whose main event is a Solidarity Marathon broadcast on Channel 9. Citizens in the Valencian Community can make contributions which will go to cancer research this year.

July 2008 – The PwC Foundation Award. The Spanish Company in a Global World.

The Panel of Judges unanimously agreed that the first Award of PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation for “The Spanish Company in a Global World” should go to the work titled “Globalisation and the Spanish Company”, presented by Julen Souto Bengoechea from the Universidad de Deusto. |
