Book presentation “Results-based leadership in NGOs”

On 28 June a presentation took place out in Madrid of the book “Liderazgo orientado a resultados en las ONG” (Results-based Leadership in NGOs), which has been published within the ESADE–PwC Social Leadership Programme 2010/2011.
The presentation was attended by Mr. Enrique Fernández-Miranda y Lozana, President of the PwC Foundation, Mr. Ignasi Carreras, Director of the ESADE Social Innovation Centre, and Ms. María Sureda, both of whom have co-authored the book together with Ms. María Iglesias.

On 19 May the Board of Trustees of the PwC Foundation were granted an audience with HM King Juan Carlos to in order to introduce the new members of the Board.

ESADE-PwC Social Leadership Programme: Result- oriented leadership in order to make progress on strategy and social impact and organisational development he sixth forum of the ESADE-PwC social leadership programme was held at ESADE Barcelona last Wednesday, 30 March. The meeting continued working on the topic of the previous Forum: “Result- oriented leadership in order to make progress on strategy and social impact and organisational development”, since strategy and results measurement in NGOs is the core subject for 2010-11 within the programme.

Agreement between PwC Foundation and Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza
In the photograph, from left to right, Mr Enrique Fernández-Miranda, the Chairman of Fundación PwC, Mr José María Arias, the Chairman of Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza and the Chairman of Banco Pastor and Mr Javier López Martínez, the General Manager of Fundación Pedro Barrié de la Maza. On 21 February the Framework Agreement and Additional  Protocol  between  PwC Foundation and Fundación Barrié was signed at the Fundación Barriés headquarters in A Coruña. That agreement envisages establishing a collaboration framework enabling the development of social action programmes by both institutions in Galicia and the  hiring of ten professionals who will work at  NGOs dedicated to social welfare.
Containing healthcare spending
Containing healthcare spending Within the framework of the Public Sector Innovation Centre, a joint initiative of PwC and IE Business School, a conference was held on 2 February on containing healthcare spending. The conference which was attended by representatives of hospitals and the healthcare authorities aimed to shed light on funding in the current downturn.

Policy assessment, a public responsibility
The photograph shows, inter alia, Mr Pablo Macías, a Director of PwC, Mr Jordi Sevilla, a Senior Counsellor of PwC and Mr Julio Gómez Pomar, the Director of the PwC and IE Public Sector Innovation Centre. The conference on “Policy assessment, a public responsibility” , which was attended by several officials involved in this area, was held on 18 January. The event was attended by a large number of speakers from the Public Administrations who discussed their experiences, projects and reflections concerning important issues of our time such as the analysis of public sector developments.

New Board of the PwC Foundation
The members of the PwC Foundation’s Board of Trustees have appointed Enrique Fernández-Miranda as the new Chairman of the Foundation.
Fernández-Miranda, the former general manager, succeeds Ramón Casals, who resigned from the chairmanship of the Foundation’s Board with effect from 30 June.
Miguel Cruzhas assumed the chairmanship on an interim basis until the formal appointment of the new chairman.

5th ESADE-PwC Foundation Forum on Social Leadership

The session focused on the theme of “Results-based leadership to progress in social strategy and impact and in organisational development”, as during the 2010-11 course the programme will be centered on strategy and results measurement in NGOs.

On 5 November the report titled “Legal Matters of Interest for Relatives of Alzheimer Patients” was presented in Valencia. The presentation was co-sponsored by the PwC Foundation and the Gent x Gent Foundation.

July 2010 – Agreement between the IE Business School Foundation and the PwC Foundation for the creation of 8 scholarships for the Master’s Degree in Public Administration

Behind him, in the photograph on the right, Mr Diego Alcázar, Chairman of the IE Business School and Mr Carlos Mas, Chairman of PwC On 19 July, the PwC Foundation signed an agreement with the IE Business School Foundation and the IE Business School to launch a program for aid under the name of: PwC Scholarship for Executives from the Public Sector and PwC Fellowships for Professionals from the Latin American Public Sector, for students who wish to study the Executive Master’s Degree in Public Administration
Framework Collaboration Agreement between the PwC Foundation and Cruz Roja Española
Framework Collaboration Agreement between the PwC Foundation and Cruz Roja Española The Framework Collaboration Agreement between the PwC Foundation and Cruz Roja Española was signed on 7 July.
This Agreement follows on from a series of collaborative events that we have organised with this leading NGO, the latest relating to the Haiti catastrophe.
July 2010 – ESADE-PwC Social Leadership Programme: "Leading Change in NGOs”
ESADE-PwC Social Leadership Programme On Monday 5th July a conference under the name "Leading Change in NGOs” was held in Barcelona, coinciding with the publication of Successfully transforming NGOs. Change Leadership.
Both the event and the study form part of the ESADE-PwC Social Leadership Programme organised by these two institutions.
